Freezing on the Red Carpet

I was so surprised to hear that it's going to be a chilly evening tonight on the red carpet in Los Angeles. We're talking in the 40s people! My first thought was, what are the actresses going to be wearing to stay warm? Long sleeves, maybe? Or will they opt for a jacket or shawl of some sort? I personally know that if I were there I'd be wearing SOMETHING (anything) on my arms. I know that when my arms are cold it makes my entire body cold. I thought that these jackets would be totally wearable over a stunning Oscar gown and not distracting.

What do you think? What would you wear over a red carpet evening gown? Would you just wear long sleeves? Or would just suck it up, show your bare arms, and freeze for fashion?

Trend Block

The weather the other week totally spoiled me. I actually started to think that spring is here...but then the snow we got a few days later shook me back to reality. While I was thinking about warmer weather I started to daydream of pretty floral sundresses. Floral print dresses are the trend for spring. Actually, I don't think they EVER go out of style...so stocking up on a few is probably in your best interest because you'll be able to wear them for many seasons to come and still look amazingly hip. Here are my favorite floral frock picks for spring---

Which dresses listed above do you have to have? How do you feel about floral dresses? Is there another floral dress that you love that didn't make it on Snapshot Fashion's list? Please feel free to share!

*Fashionista Faceoff*

This week on our Fashionista Faceoff I am going up against Dana. Our theme this week is showing off our favorite work outfit appropriate for a fashion or artsy company. Got it? Let's check out our looks---

Dana wore a simple white top and black pants, but adds in a bold necklace and furry vest which makes the statement! Making this look go from simple to fabulous!

I wore one of my all time favorite dresses. This bold green mod frock is perfect for the work place. I pair it some funky tights and heels.

Looks For Less

My Style

My favorite color is pink...but you wouldn't guess that from my wardrobe. I only own one or two pink items...but boy do I have a ridiculous amount of purple pieces (I also own a ton of black...but I blame that on living in NYC for quite a few years)! I just added another purple piece to my collection...this adorable purple studded skirt that I have been drooling over for months now. My hubby surprised me with it the other day...and I love it!

skirt- Brooklyn Industries
top- Old Navy
scarf- Candie's
tights- Urban Outfitters
boots- Steve Madden

The Haircut

So I have gotten a few comments and emails from my readers asking me what style I went with for my haircut. I just wanted to follow up...I guess I didn't really pick any of the three celeb styles I listed. Just told my stylist to take off 3-4" and just let her do her own thing. This isn't the best picture (I should have taken one last night when I came home from getting it done)...but I really do love it. It feels a lot fuller and healthier. LOVE IT! The only thing that stinks is that I still have to clip my bangs back because they aren't quite long enough to tuck behind my ear yet...*sigh* Maybe in a few weeks they will be.

Take Part in the IFB Conferences

I have to admit, since I have moved out of NYC it does make me a little sad that I can't just walk on over and attend the IFB conferences or New York Fashion Week shows and presentations like I did in the past. Today I keep hearing from all my blogger friends on how they are attending the IFB conferences. I was thinking, man I really wish I could be there this year. Well...I CAN! And so can you! Check out the live streaming video from the conferences.

*Fashionista Faceoff*

It's Wednesday...so that means it is time for another faceoff! Today I'm going up against Jen, who is one of my favorite bloggers, in a stripe challenge.

Jen's look is very classic with the stripes and colors giving it a nautical feel.

I went bright and bold in the color department. A belted denim blazer pulls this look together.

Alexi Freeman: Casual, sexy, and alluring.

SF: What inspires your designs?
AF: My collections are continually inspired and informed by the graphic beauty of the natural world. I've also got a bit of an ongoing fascination with the 1920's and the Art Deco period.

New Hairstyle

Next week I (finally) go for a haircut and color. It's been way too long since my last appointment. Holidays got in the way, and then I forgot to call...and when I finally did my girl was booked up for weeks. I'm in the mood for a new look...but I don't know what style I want. Currently I'm growing out my bangs and my hair is rather long (about 5-6 inches past my shoulders). It's just been looking kind of blah lately, and I need a new look. I'm keeping my haircolor the same...or similar...to what I have.

Here are some styles I like---

Jessica Alba

Gwyneth Paltrow

Rachel McAdams

Let me know your thoughts. Do you like any of these styles? Is there another style that you think would look better that I haven't thought of?
