Homecoming Dresses at DressFirst

August is practically here, which means for my younger readers that means the start of school is right around the corner. And when school starts, you know what you will be thinking of...homecoming! I wanted to let you all know that I found an amazing site that has the best collection of homecoming dresses that I have ever seen. What I love most about the dresses on DressFirst are the variety of colors that they come in and sizes that they have available. There really is something for everyone!

Here are some of my favorite dresses in their collection that I think would make anyone the star of their homecoming dance.

There is something very romantic about this flowing chiffon dress. It will make anyone look like a superstar.

This tulle and sequin dress screams homecoming to me! Bright and bold...and full of fun. This is a dress that the girl who is the life of the party will most definitely be wearing.

Can we say pretty??? This dress has amazing beading detail and will make anyone feel like a princess.

I could totally see myself in this stunning satin dress. It's very simple, yet classic. It's definitely a dress you could look back on wearing and not cringe. So chic!

Aren't these dresses just fabulous? Which DressFirst homecoming dresses are your favorite?

Look of the Day- Sweet & Sassy

Two of my favorite colors have to be black and pink. I swear most of my wardrobe is black. You can make all the jokes about New Yorkers and their dark garb, but it really is just so much more practical. But how can you make a full black wardrobe a little more interesting? Adding pops of color, like the hot pink shown below, really gives that extra punch that makes an outfit special.

Look of the Day

1) Gardenhead Viola Halo Headwrap available at Urban Outfitters- $24
2) Farewell Floral Peplum Blouse by C.Luce available at Piperlime- $59
3) Neon Pop Clutch available at Forever 21- $19.80
4) Mossimo Faux Leather Quilted Mini Skirt available at Target- $24.99

Do you have a color that seems to take over your wardrobe? What is your favorite color to wear?

*Snapshot Fashion on Instagram*

Where would I be without Instagram...seriously? I'm obsessed with taking photos and I know I use the app way too much. If you aren't following me on there yet, get to it: @snapshotfashion. Here are some highlights over the last week and a half, in case you missed them.

My lhasa-poo got a haircut. Short and cool for the summer. He was so proud of this haircut that he pranced the entire way home with this huge smile on his face!

Sammy Davis Vintage invited me to the Etsy Labs in Brooklyn to take event photos of a Vintage Sellers/SEO Event she was hosting. Oh yeah, not only do I do portrait photography, but I take event photos too! Be sure to check out Diane Dulgerian Photography for more information.

I made the most amazing strawberry jam! It was super simple (only three ingredients) and so delicious!

My husband and I headed to Brooklyn Heights for lunch. We came across the Henry Street Ale House...which was the perfect pub. If you go there try the turkey club. It had Granny Smith apples in it and tarragon mayo which made it amazing! Best turkey club of my life.

Poor Rocko got so sick this week. He spent the majority of Wednesday in my bed. He's all better now though...thank goodness.

Are you on Instagram? If so be sure to let me know so I can follow along. I love keeping up with my readers and fellow bloggers.

Trend Block: Floral Prints

Now that my seasonal allergies have subsided I feel as though I can appreciate floral print a little bit more. I came across this stunning photo of Scarlett Johansson at Comic-Con, and I had to share it with you. This bright and bold Versace sheath dress she has on is so beautiful! Typically I'm not a huge fan of florals...at least not pastel florals (bleh!). It's just a little too cute for me. But bright and bold florals are perfection! The intense colors really elevates the entire look...don't you think?

Since most of us can't afford Versace, I wanted to show you some affordable options so you can give this trend a try!

The 7th Avenue Straight Leg Sateen Crop Pant available at New York & Company- $42.94 $14.99

Floral Minnie Lou Sunglasses available at Fred Flare- $12

Ila by Kate Spade New York available at Piperlime- $358 $199.99

Copacabana Sundress by MINKPINK available at Shopbop- $88

Today is rather gloomy here in NYC, so wearing a punch of color like this is so necessary! It instantly boosts your mood. This really is such an easy trend to wear. Bright and bold floral prints look universally flattering on any shape, any size, any skin tone. You don't have to be a hippie to embrace your inner flower child!

From floral dresses to accessories with flower prints, how will you wear this trend???

Look of the Day- Hot in the City

It's been in the upper 90s (feeling like over 105) all week long here in NYC. I think I'm starting to lose my mind! Been sitting indoors because I just can't handle the heat...and I have started to go stir crazy! Well, the good news is that today they are calling for some storms so it will cool off a bit. THANK GOODNESS!

When it is this hot outside dressing chic can be quite a challenge. Don't you agree? So I say, KEEP IT SIMPLE! And nothing gets more simple than a romper. It's cuter than denim shorts, and way more comfy than a dress. If you have bad hair in weather like this (like I do), I suggest throwing on an adorable floppy hat and you are good to go!

Look of the Day

1) Carissa Floppy Hat available at Nasty Gal- $40
2) In a Novella Romper available at ModCloth- $34.99
3) Getaway Tote available at J.Crew- $378
4) Out West Wedge Sandals available at Forever 21- $26.80
5) Can't Leaf It Be Belt available at ModCloth- $15.99

Do you have any fun plans for your Saturday? Or will you be sitting up close to your air conditioner all day like me? One thing that my husband and I are looking forward to this afternoon is watching Sharknado! HAHA! I DVRed it the other night...and thought it would be a hilarious way to spend an afternoon.

STAY COOL! xoxoxo

Photo Coverage: Etsy Event for Vintage Sellers

Earlier this week I got a phone call from my friend Sammy of Sammy Davis Vintage. She asked me if I'd be interested in photographing an event (The Secrets of SEO for Vintage Sellers) that she was co-hosting along with her friend Simone at the Etsy Labs in Brooklyn. Of course I said yes! Taking photos of some fabulous vintage styles, meeting nice people (vintage sellers and Etsy team members), trying out my new flash, and shooting my first event...this sounded like a perfect Wednesday night to me.

I wanted to share a few of the photos from the other night with you all. I also have a few more posted on my website and my Facebook page. So be sure to follow along there as well!

I used to shop vintage all the time...especially in high school. I used to find the most adorable pieces in the vintage shops of downtown Lancaster, PA and my favorite spot in Mechanicsburg, PA called Fairy Godmothers. Lately, I just haven't had the time to shop vintage. You really do need to take the time to find those special pieces. But after this workshop I definitely have the itch to start shopping vintage again!

If you are looking for someone to cover your next event, please let me know!!!

P.S. For all of the vintage sellers that were at the event- I have all of the images in a secure file on my photography website. If you don't have the password be sure to ask me or Sammy.

Beach Blanket Bingo

It seems like lately all I have been doing is dreaming of having a swimming pool, talking about the heatwave, and dripping in sweat. Even on this blog, every post seems to revolve around me talking about just how hot it is outside. I just can't help it. Every day this week the heat index has the temperatures flying well over 100 degrees...and I know the majority of the country is suffering too. So, I thought right now would be a great time to talk about swimwear. I know that personally I need to buy a new bathing suit. But, since I don't go to the local beaches, do not have a trip to the Caribbean planned, and do not have a swimming pool...I guess I really don't need one. Do I???

Here are some great swimsuits that I know all of you beach bunnies are going to love as much as I do---

Polka Dot Bikini available at Forever 21- $10.80 (top), $9.80 (bottoms)

Spot Tie Front Swimsuit available at ASOS- $42.43

Xhilaration Junior's Stripe Two Piece available at Target- $17.99 (top), $17.99 (bottoms)

Fruity Suity by Esther Williams (plus size) available at ModCloth- $89.99

Vero Moda Silver Trim Bikini available at ASOS- $28.85 (top), $20.36 (bottoms)

Rocket Split One Piece available at Shabby Apple- $110

Be sure to stay cool, hydrate, and slather on that SPF!
